The Dog Puck Line Signal

NHL dog spread records: 118-76 (2021), 101-75 (2022), 178-105 (2023), 189-129 (2024), 197-121 (2025). Every full season above 55%, four of five above 59%. This is the most consistent signal angle in our entire picks dataset across all sports. The model keeps finding value in NHL underdogs because the market keeps underpricing them. Pair it with goalie start data and back-to-back schedules for the sharpest read.

Volume and Improvement

NHL is a high-volume sport -- 551 picks logged in 2025 alone. That volume means the records are statistically meaningful faster than in NFL (82 plays) or CFL (39 plays). The 2025 season improved be 34.21u over 2024. The 2024 season was the lowest point in the dataset at -71.39 u -- understanding why that happened (and what changed for 2025) is on the historical records page.
