Why 1st Q & 1st H Bets Are Worth Tracking Separately

First-half and first-quarter betting is one of the fastest-growing markets in basketball wagering. Books price these lines quickly and lean heavily on full-game averages -- but first-half outcomes aren't just a scaled-down version of the full game. Scoring pace, defensive intensity, and starter matchups all play differently in the first two quarters than they do in the final two.

This report tracks exactly who leads at the Q1 buzzer and who leads at halftime -- per team, broken out by home/away and fave/dog. Not derived from the final score. Not extrapolated. The actual 1st quarter leader and the actual halftime leader, every game this season.

1st Quarter Records -- The Fastest Settling Line In Basketball

Books post live Q1 lines before tip-off. A team on a strong Q1 run -- especially at home, where crowd energy and familiarity with the court matters -- is a repeatable first-quarter backer. The Q1 Win% column is your baseline. The Home% and Away% splits tell you whether that record holds across venues or is inflated by home court. The Fave% and Dog% splits tell you whether the team tends to jump out when they're expected to, or whether they're better as a live underdog play.

The Avg Q1 Pts column is the total-line context -- teams that average under 48 combed Q1 points are slow starters worth watching for UNDER bets in Q1 totals.

1st Half Records -- The Most Directly Bettable Period

Most books offer first-half spreads and totals for every WNBA game. The H1 Win% here is directly applicable to those markets -- a team leading 70%+ at halftime when they're favored is telling you their first-half covers could be highly correlated with holding the lead. Conversely, dog teams with a high H1 Win% are teams that keep first halves competitive regardless of the full-game line.

Pairing this with the WNBA Live Betting Report's checkpoint records gives you the full picture: how often does a team lead at halftime, and how often do they convert that halftime lead into a full-game cover.
